Selecting Sampling Equipment
The right sampling equipment to use is dictated by the waste matrix. It should
- allow collection of a representative sample
- not react in any way with the sample (i.e., be constructed of stainless steel, glass, or Teflon)
- not affect chemical or physical properties of the sample (e.g., adsorb contaminants, lose part of liquids in sample...)
- allow decontamination prior to and after use or be disposable
- be safe to use
